Day 7 onwards – Ending our Spanish road trip and Mallorca (June 2018)

Hi everyone,

Josh and I were close to the end of our road trip. When we left Granada to drive to Murcia,ย  the weather was as sad as we were.

We didn’t do any sightseeing in Murcia because we were all travelling to various places the next day. The only thing we really cared about was… you guessed it…food!

Loz was happy because we finally got her Sangria

At dinner, we decided we definitely needed paella. And boy did we hit the jackpot. For our last night in Spain together, we splashed out and got ourselves a lobster paella.

The J’s looking pleased as punch
Loz is deliriously happy

After our dinner to end all dinners, we headed back to the hotel to prep for our 4 hour drive back to Madrid the next day. Josh drove the whole way (thanks!). And then, it was time to say goodbye to the car (sniff!).

End of our road trip!

At this point, Loz and JD headed off to Portugal for the week. Josh, Amrit and I jumped on a plane to meet our family in Mallorca.

The best way to describe Mallorca is that it’s the Gold Coast for Europeans (analogy for Australians) or the Cancun for Europeans (analogy for Americans). There’s a party side and a more laid back side. We were in the more laid back side and so it ended up being quite relaxing. Most of my time in Mallorca was spent attending a wedding. However, Josh and I still got time in to do some sightseeing. Walking around the Old Town of Mallorca was really pretty.

We then found the cutest little seafood restaurant under one of the archways.

Josh and I immediately fell in love with the nautical theme.

Ahoy matey!

And the food was some of the best seafood we had all trip.

Always need jamon

From there, Josh and I had a bit more of a stroll around Mallorca. As you can guess, we saw another cathedral. But what I enjoyed most about Mallorca was how close it was to the sea. Even the Cathedral had a pretty little water feature.

But the sight I would like to leave you with is the view from the Cathedral looking out:

And that’s it, the end of our Spanish adventures.

It’s back to the real world for Josh and I. Stay tuned for our next adventure whenever that is.

Talk soon,

Sim & Josh
