It was the 25th Annual Livermore Wine County Downtown Street Fest this weekend. Seems like a mouthful but really the only thing in the heading that grabbed my attention was WINE. We attended on the Saturday which turned out to be an amazing spring day.
Even though Livermore is only a 15 minute drive away, we decided to Uber it because a number of streets were shut down and they expected about 150 000 to attend.
I really like Livermore. Unfortunately, the Bay area has several different train lines and train services i.e. Metro, BART, ACE, CALTRAIN. I would love to move to Livermore but there isn’t a direct train from Livermore to SF like there is from Pleasanton to SF.
Before heading to the Festival, first we picked up a friend. This is Geoff with Josh. Evidently heaps of people constantly mix them up. And no wonder, they look so similar.
From Geoff’s house, we walked to the festival. It was starting to get really warm. When we turned up, we had this to get through before getting our tickets.
The ticket for unlimited wine tastings was $40, and for unlimited beer tastings was $30. So glad none of us got the beer ticket because there were only 4 breweries to taste from. Because there were so many people at this festival, there was a massive line whenever you wanted a taste. So you would line up, get a tiny little shot go straight to the back of the line to get another shot.
The festival did have entertainment organised while you were waiting in line.
After standing in the sun for a while, we decided to purchase a drink to cool down.
It got so hot that I had to buy a hat. Also I got an enormous bag of popcorn which I tried to finish but didn’t succeed.
Once the festival started winding down, Josh and I headed back with Geoff and Anna to have a BBQ for dinner.
Sitting down to dinner and taking my shoes off, I discovered that it was unwise I had these on.
BECAUSE when I took my shoes off, my feet looked like this…
First world problems of a brown person. I’m going to try and have to get rid of these tan lines/spots. All in all, Josh and I had such a great time although I think $40 was a bit rich for a wine festival. Next time, we’re just going to hunker down in a restaurant.
Next week, Josh and I are going to LA for a long weekend. Expect to be inundated with posts!!
Talk soon,
Sim

Hahahaha beautiful tan! I’m so jealous, looks like an amazing day out.
Great job on the feet! hahahaha
Looks like a fun day! The warm weather makes it look enticing enough, from this side of the world. It’s blowing a gale here. We had thunder and lightning on Saturday night at my uncles house in Sorrento. There was an empty Simren and Josh sized bed there too 😉 There might be a trip or 3 there in the future, if you’re ever back in Aus! It was Tom and Kim, Marcus and Nicole, Brooke, Kat and I, in a big house with nothing but about 300m of bush and sand dunes between us and the sea.
Looks like you’re having fun over there! Are you missing Aus?
Hey!!! I saw the pictures from Sorrento. And yes, we are missing Aus. I miss the weather (believe it or not), the food but most especially all of you guys. Don’t worry, we’re going to give everyone a heap of notice when we come back and Josh and I will fill up that bed in Sorrento. We miss having fun with you guys. Just have to hope you guys visit (hint hint!). Starting uni soon so hopefully time will go faster with me. Can’t work yet because I haven’t received my work permit. Dying for that one just so I can start earning some money and spending it like I love you. Josh says hi and we are hoping to travel down to Aus next year sometime. Bye for now!
Hahaha, such a lovely post, but the tan lines really made it a Simren story 😜
I wish I tanned that easily!
